Boiler Flue Posted on October 26, 2014 by Richard The flue is covered with 45 cms of soil. The construction is killas, the mortar is still very good. The slot in the base of the chimney has an iron band acting as the lintel. It makes possible the removal of soot from the chimney.
Engines in use at North Herodsfoot 1845 45 inch pumping engine, 22 inch whim and a water wheal of 20 feet diameter. This probably was a replacement to the 36 inch wheel which was sold off in 1826. Reply ↓
