given the very dry spell this spring & summer, (at least here in the New Forest), has there been any further opportunities or attempts at accessing the mine workings this year?

Hi David,
The water level in the shaft never goes lower than the river although it has dropped 2 metres this summer. I believe the first level is someway down the shaft meaning only a dive would allow access.
Nah, don’t fancy that!
What about the shaft up near the Old School? Any recent attempts at access?
Bringing the Grandchildren down to Deerpark (fourth generation to stay there since 1979!) this half term, at the end of October, one of them is particularly fond of rocks, I wondered if it might be possible to impose on your time again for a brief tour of your collection?
