Pale Amethyst from Dorothy CCP St Austell
A large and very heavy 6.5kg block of solid Galena. How the miners missed this is a mystery? The only reason I can put forward is they were fooled by a thin deposit of pyrite on the surface and it was discarded as pyrite.
A large plate of Smoky Quartz crystals, the crystals are darker than the photo would suggest. In the 1970’s and 80’s these large plates along with large single crystals were a common find.
From different ends of the County
The first a delicate mass of lenticular calcite from Wheal Ludcott St Ive.The second creamy paper calcite crystals sitting on a large block of heamatised quartz from Geevor Mine Pendeen.
