Two Recent Visits

We have been lucky with the weather for the visits of the Sussex Mineral and Lapidary Society, and the Russell Society.

Adam seems to have nodded off in the photo opposite. But he always finds at least one bournonite specimen.

Huge amounts of galena have been exposed lately. When cleaned up I expect some pyrargyrite crystals will show up.

Even Fontaine the cat is getting the mineral bug, or is it the sandwiches he is after?

  1. Hello Richard,
I’m taking over the write-up for the RS visit on 15th August. I would like to add some supplemental information about yourself. For example I understand you and your wife moved back to the UK from France after retiring from industry some six years ago. How long have you been allowing people to dig at the mine. What is your most memorable find so far. Anything else that might be of interest to readers not detailed on the website.
    Many thanks.
    Clive.
