Phew What A Scorcher, Well Almost!

For 9 members of the Southampton Mineral Club, Saturday was a great day for a mineral dig at Herodsfoot with a newly exposed face, expectations were high.  The old mine did not disappoint!

It was hard going in the May sunshine, and by lunchtime some were flagging. Plenty of samples were being wrapped carefully including bournonite cogs.

See you again Barry and I hope the dig today at the Virtuous Lady was rewarding.

We have got a very busy week ahead with visits from The Camborne School of mines tomorrow, old friends from the Sussex Mineral club on Tuesday, another group of truly international visitors on Thursday.   Lets hope the weather is kind to them as some are travelling a considerable distance.
