Visit from the Sussex Mineral and Lapidary Society

Great to see some friends from my old club make it back down to Cornwall for yet another adventure!

The morning started with heavy rain which did not bode well. We took shelter under the barn, by 11:30 the cloud gave way to sun.

Not quite enough rain to wash off last nights effort with the digger.

The rich area of bournonite we have been digging for the last few months seems to have dried up somewhat, perhaps we have gone too deep?

There are still plenty of galena, pyrite, siderite and dolomite specimens to be found. Time to back fill this area and concentrate the digging towards engine shaft.

The guys are off to Ting Tang tomorrow, Liroconite will be the prize sought.
